Packing For: A Girls' Weekend in Santa Barbara

Packing For: A Girls' Weekend in Santa Barbara

After years of overpacking, lugging larger than necessary suitcases, and staggering through airports under the weight of too many things, I have finally made a conscious effort to pack exactly what I need, no more and no less. That means planning, making lists in advance, and not throwing random items into a suitcase at the last minute.

It also means having the faith that if I really end up needing something I forgot, I can pick up a replacement somewhere or doing without.

For my fall weekend in Santa Barbara (which still felt like summer), my best friend and I were aiming for relaxation, talking, and not a ton of plans but we still had an idea of how we were going to spend the weekend. That made it easy to plan an outfit around each activity and pack accordingly.

For shorter weekend jaunts, I use this Cuyana overnight bag and they also make this larger weekender bag.
